Primary Colours

"How many colours do I need?" This is a question that is often asked by those who want to start painting. All you need are the three primary colours, magenta, blue, and yellow. You can mix them together to make any colour at all! So, why would you buy a package containing 50 colours, costing $150 when you can just pick up three colours? It's also easier to pack around three pencils!

For this drawing, I used 4 Derwent pencil crayons; I added sepia to my small collection. I also used a red STAEDTLER felt pen, and a black gel pen. I drew this out on site, but I didn't have a lot of time, so I added some colour and finished the rest later that night.

  1. It was so cool to peek over your shoulder as you were completing this while sitting in our living room last week. Beautifully captured!
